About The Position

The Residential Engagement Assistant supports resident engagement at Our House of Portland, a 14-room Residential Care Facility serving people living with HIV who have difficulty managing independent living. The role implements activity plans and carries out activities that support residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to meet departmental needs. This is a part-time, 0.8 FTE position located in SE Portland, Oregon. The schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Starting pay is $24.28 per hour, with a $1.00 weekend differential; the pay scale increases with tenure to $28.27 per hour. This is a union-represented position, with compensation, benefits, and working conditions collectively bargained. Employees must provide proof of vaccination status at hire unless a documented medical or religious exemption is requested and approved.

Requirements

CPR certification or ability to become certified.
Food handlers’ card or ability to obtain one.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Motivation to work with people with HIV/AIDS who require all levels of care.
Willingness to work with people experiencing physical and emotional health and/or chemical dependency challenges.
Ability to understand and follow written or verbal instructions.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide person-centered activity services to residents individually and in groups.
Provide transportation services to meet residents’ identified needs and interests, individually and in groups.
Set up activities and organize the supplies required for each activity.
Maintain documentation reflecting services provided.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA privacy requirements.
Work some evenings or flex days, with advance notice, when required for special events.
