Residential Counselor - Adult Supports
About The Position
The Evergreen Center is seeking a Residential Counselor for its Adult Supports Division. The division provides residential programs for adults with intellectual and developmental challenges served by the Commonwealth's Department of Developmental Services. Its mission is to support individuals in making independent choices while pursuing lives centered on community involvement. The Residential Counselor implements instructional activities and treatment programs designated by each individual's Individual Support Plan. The role includes supporting individuals in residential and community settings, monitoring their health and safety, and transporting them to scheduled recreational activities while ensuring their comfort and well-being. The position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus. The listed schedule is Sunday, 9 a.m.–11 p.m., and Monday–Wednesday, 3 p.m.–11 p.m., for 38 hours per week. Compensation is $19.60–$20.31 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Obtain MAP (Medication Administration) certification within the first three months of employment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Manage the case of one individual.
- Collect and record data regarding individuals' daily performance in defined instructional and behavioral areas.
- Supervise instructional activities in residential and community settings.
- Monitor all aspects of the health and safety of individuals assigned to the residence.
- Safely transport individuals to scheduled recreational activities in the community and ensure their comfort and well-being during transit.
