About The Position

The Evergreen Center is seeking Residential Counselors for its Adult Supports Division, which provides residential programs for adults with intellectual and developmental challenges served by the Commonwealth's Department of Developmental Services. The role implements instructional activities and treatment programs designated by individuals’ Individual Support Plans. The division’s mission is to support individuals in making independent choices and pursuing lives centered on community involvement. The position includes case management for one individual, collecting and recording data on daily performance, supervising instructional activities in residential and community settings, and monitoring the health and safety of individuals at the residence. Counselors also safely transport individuals to scheduled community recreational activities and support their comfort and well-being during transit. Available schedule: Sunday 9 a.m.–11 p.m.; Monday–Wednesday 3 p.m.–11 p.m. (38 hours). A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Obtain MAP (Medication Administration) certification within the first three months of employment.
Reliable transportation.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Provide case management for one individual.
Collect and record data regarding individuals’ daily performance in defined instructional and behavioral areas.
Supervise instructional activities in residence and community settings.
Monitor the health and safety of individuals assigned to the residence.
Safely transport individuals to scheduled recreational activities in the community.
Support individuals’ comfort and well-being during transit while maintaining a supportive and respectful atmosphere.
Implement instructional activities and treatment programs designated by Individual Support Plans.
