About The Position

Eliada is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and young adults succeed since 1903. We offer a range of services including foster care, residential treatment, housing support, and vocational training. We are seeking compassionate and dependable Overnight Residential Counselors / Youth Mentors to support youth in a residential treatment setting. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in youth work, direct care, behavioral health, or mentoring who want to make a difference in the lives of students.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
• High School Diploma or GED
• Agree to a Background Screening and Drug Test upon hire
• Possess a valid NC Drivers License

Responsibilities

• Ensure student safety by providing supervision and monitoring throughout the night.
• Support students emotionally and environmentally by following individualized treatment plans.
• Utilize the agency’s crisis intervention model, including safe physical restraint techniques if absolutely necessary.
• Conduct regular safety checks, maintain a stable and supportive environment, and provide guidance when needed.
• Assist with evening routines such as meals, laundry, and bedtime preparation.
• Complete pre-shift planning and post-shift debriefings with staff.
• Maintain accurate mental health and program documentation within compliance standards (training provided).
• Communicate effectively with guardians, residential staff, and agency professionals.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to promote personal growth, self-awareness, and lasting change.
• Engage students in structured processing sessions under the agency’s therapeutic model.
• Safely transport students between program locations as needed (company vehicle provided).
