About The Position
KVC Missouri is hiring a full-time Residential Cook at its Bearfield Campus in Columbia, Missouri. The cook prepares nourishing meals for children and teens in a calm, family-style residential setting, helping make mealtimes a comforting and positive part of each day. The role includes following nutritional guidelines while bringing creativity to menus, baking, and meal presentation. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and every other weekend.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain it.
- At least 1 year of kitchen or food service experience.
- Dependable, caring, and creative, with pride in one's work.
Nice To Haves
- School or residential food service experience is preferred.
- Experience working with children or youth is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious meals according to recipes, DESE nutrition standards, and ServSafe guidelines.
- Plan menus, prepare meals, and bake creatively.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and follow food safety protocols.
- Manage inventory and assist with special events.
- Interact with children and staff to help make mealtimes comforting and positive.
