About The Position
Waste Connections is hiring a Residential CDL Route Driver in Pueblo, Colorado. The position pays $25–$28 per hour and typically involves working 50–55 hours per week, with overtime paid for every hour worked beyond 40. The role is eligible for safety bonuses. Waste experience is preferred but not required. The driver operates a garbage truck on assigned routes to collect solid waste, follows route sheets, and serves the customers assigned by the dispatcher. The work involves vehicle inspections and routine maintenance, operating hydraulic hand controls, and physically demanding loading and unloading, sometimes without helpers. Drivers also interact courteously with customers and may perform other job-related duties as assigned. The work requires strenuous physical activity, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds. Drivers may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, wet or humid conditions, fumes, vibration, and moderate noise.
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL with an air brakes endorsement, at minimum.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
- Basic knowledge of truck components to complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Sequence routes for optimal efficiency.
- Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
- Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Perform physically demanding loading and unloading, at times without helpers.
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
- Interact courteously with customers.
- Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
