About The Position

Island Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a CDL Driver in Coupeville, Washington. The driver safely operates a garbage truck on assigned routes to collect solid waste, serves customers listed on route sheets or assigned by dispatch, performs routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, and interacts courteously with customers. The job may involve loading and unloading without assistance and other duties as assigned. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with starts at 5:30 AM. Starting pay is $29.50 per hour. The work involves strenuous physical activity, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds. Drivers work outdoors in varying weather, including wet or humid conditions, and may be exposed to fumes, vibration, moving mechanical parts, and moderate noise. Requirements

Clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Load and unload materials, sometimes without helpers.
Interact courteously with customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
