About The Position

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) at Tiffin Developmental Center (TDC) is seeking a Residential Care Supervisor 1. DODD's mission is to partner with people and communities to support Ohioans with developmental disabilities and their families in realizing their version of a good life. TDC is a residential facility in Northwest Ohio supporting youth aged 10-17 and adults with developmental disabilities. The facility offers opportunities for residents to be active on a large rural campus and within the community. Direct care staff and nurses provide 24/7 care, focusing on support and stabilization to help individuals integrate into environments that best meet their wants and needs. Requirements

  • 24 months of training or 24 months of experience in providing care to patients and/or in participating in the development and/or carrying out of patients' habilitation plans, preferably for those who had developmental disabilities or mental disability, and in implementing and carrying out the same.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment.
  • Medical (Job Skill)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with developmental disabilities or mental disability.
  • Experience in implementing and carrying out habilitation plans.

Responsibilities

  • Working with case managers to ensure Individual Service Plans are implemented properly and the residents' needs are met, including facilitating activities both on and off campus and following purchasing procedures.
  • Working in the Campus Support Office to direct phone calls into the facility, ensure staffing needs are met, assign state vehicles for use, and receive/log information about Unusual Incidents and staff call-offs & work injuries.
  • Timekeeping for assigned staff, ensuring staff submit requests for time off and requests for overtime/compensatory time, approving requests & timecards, and ensuring the schedule is correct in the timekeeping system.
  • Providing hands-on support to staff by modeling active treatment strategies, delivering in-the-moment training and coaching, and responding to staff who need real-time guidance or assistance, including the use of trauma-informed care principles and approved behavioral intervention techniques.
  • Providing corrective feedback or disciplinary action as needed, in alignment with facility policies and labor agreements.
  • Monitoring the home environment to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health and safety standards.
