Residential Aide - Park Street Inn (New Haven)
About The Position
The Residential Aide provides direct client care at Park Street Inn, an intensive residential program serving people transitioning into the community from psychiatric hospitals. In a high-structure, low-demand setting, the program helps residents develop fundamental skills needed to remain in the community. Working within Adult Services as part of the Residential Behavioral Health Treatment care team, the Residential Aide supports clients’ recovery from mental illness, substance use, and homelessness. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living and supporting residents’ safety, health, and wellness. The aide also assists program staff, builds and maintains respectful relationships with the people served, and helps maintain a safe, harm-free environment. This is a full-time position scheduled for 30 hours per week on the third shift, Friday through Sunday, 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Newly hired employees must attend a mandatory two-day orientation at the organization’s Roscommon office in Middletown.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Residential Aide or equivalent.
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Attend a mandatory two-day new-hire orientation at the Roscommon office in Middletown if selected.
Responsibilities

- Participate in maintaining a safe, harm-free environment for residents.
- Support clients’ recovery from mental illness, substance use, and homelessness as part of the Residential Behavioral Health Treatment care team.

- Eligible external new hires in regular part-time or full-time, non-per-diem Residential Aide positions may earn up to a $1,500 sign-on incentive, paid in installments after 90 days, six months, and one year, subject to the stated eligibility conditions.
