The Residential Aide provides direct care to adult male residents in a congregate-care setting serving people with a primary mental health diagnosis who are awaiting trial. Residents typically stay for 3–6 months and receive supervision, psycho-educational services, and skill-building support to help them re-enter the community after incarceration. The program aims to reduce recidivism through positive behavioral change and pro-social community connections. The role supports residents with activities of daily living and promotes their safety, health, and wellness. The Residential Aide also assists program staff, builds and maintains respectful relationships with residents, and helps maintain a safe, harm-free environment. As part of the Adult Services Residential Behavioral Health Treatment care team, the aide supports clients’ recovery from mental illness, substance use, and homelessness. This is a part-time position scheduled for 16 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Newly hired employees must attend a mandatory two-day orientation at the Roscommon office in Middletown.
