About The Position
The Residential Advisor monitors students who live on residential floors to ensure they comply with Center rules and regulations. The role fosters an atmosphere conducive to character development by encouraging favorable behavior patterns. The Residential Advisor facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance in cases of injury, illness, traumatic experience, or emotional distress, and documents student activity and incidents. MTC operates the San Diego Job Corps Center in Imperial, California, where staff provide services to local youth.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- One year of related experience working with youth preferred.
Responsibilities
- Patrol and monitor dormitories to ensure student safety and appropriate behavior.
- Assist with recreational activities for students on and off center.
- Direct students and assist with dormitory cleanup and maintenance.
- Promote and support positive customer service throughout the facility.
- Participate in the student employability program and activities.
- Facilitate prompt and appropriate assistance in the event of injury, illness, traumatic experience, or emotional distress.
- Document student activity and incidents.
