About The Position

MTC operates the Los Angeles Job Corps Center in Los Angeles, California, providing services to local youth. The Residential Advisor monitors students living on residential floors to ensure compliance with Center rules and regulations, and fosters an atmosphere conducive to character development by encouraging favorable behavior patterns. The role facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance in cases of injury, illness, traumatic experiences, or emotional distress, and documents student activity and incidents. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a varying schedule listed as 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Pay is $22.00 per hour. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of experience working with youth.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Patrol and monitor dormitories to ensure student safety and appropriate behavior.
Assist with recreational activities for students on and off center.
Direct students and assist with dormitory cleanup and maintenance.
Promote and support positive customer service throughout the facility.
Participate in the student employability program and related activities.
Monitor student compliance with Center rules and regulations.
Encourage favorable behavior patterns and support character development.
Facilitate appropriate assistance in cases of injury, illness, traumatic experience, or emotional distress.
Document student activity and incidents.
