The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital (or rural facility). Provide after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit. Rotations to Rural Practice sites across the state are available. Allocations are personalised to meet the career goals of individual RMOs. Streams include Rural Generalist, Basic Physician Training, Surgery/Orthopaedics, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and General Practice. Other opportunities include (but are not limited to) support for Certificate or Diploma courses, teaching and research opportunities. Allocation to Rural Generalist and Critical Care streams are by expression of interest each year; interested applicants are advised to apply to this RMO campaign then submit an EOI when requested. A requirement of these streams is that applicants hold Ahpra general registration. THS – North West also welcome applications from PGY2+ International Medical Graduates holding (or eligible for) Limited or Provisional Registration with the Medical Board of Australia and provide exceptional support to allow you to meet the requirements for progression to General Registration.
