Resident Engineer

Luster National•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Luster is seeking Resident Engineers at various skill levels for future hiring needs supporting large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs. Projects may include highways, roads, bridges, bus and rail transit, international airports, and water and wastewater projects delivered through traditional and alternative delivery methods. The Resident Engineer runs the field office for an assigned construction contract, administering the contract, overseeing inspection staff, and enforcing plan, specification, and contract requirements. The role maintains a thorough record of determinations and project activity to support later change, claim, audit, or review processes. This posting is for future roles rather than a specific currently available opportunity. Luster accepts applications and conducts interviews in advance of upcoming needs. Selected candidates may have their profiles activated in the talent pool for this specialty, with talent pool candidates notified first when a project need arises. Scope and complexity increase with experience level. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or construction field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and at least five years of relevant experience on large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects. A master’s degree, professional certifications or licenses, and experience across major transportation and infrastructure sectors are preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other dashboard KPI reporting software.

Responsibilities

  • Administer construction contracts in the field, enforcing plans, specifications, and contract requirements across assigned work areas.
