Resident Engineer

Luster National•Los Angeles, CA

About The Position

Luster is building a talent pool for future Resident Engineer roles supporting large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs, including highways, roads, bridges, transit, aviation, and water/wastewater projects delivered through traditional and alternative delivery methods. These are advance hiring opportunities rather than openings for a specific currently available position. Selected candidates may be activated in the talent pool and notified first when a project need arises. The Resident Engineer runs the field office for an assigned construction contract, administers the contract, oversees inspection staff, and enforces plans, specifications, and contract requirements. The role involves coordinating with contractors, agency staff, designers, and other project stakeholders; assessing progress, changes, claims, quality, safety, and documentation; and supporting project completion and closeout. The scope and complexity of responsibilities increase with experience level. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, along with at least five years of relevant experience on large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects. The expected salary range is $100,000–$180,000 per year ($48–$87 per hour), depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, and location.
