Resident Care Director
About The Position
The Resident Care Director (RCD) serves as the clinical leader for the community, overseeing health, wellness, and care coordination to ensure safe, high-quality, resident-centered services. The role drives clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and team performance while supporting Sunrise Senior Living’s mission and care standards. The RCD leads the nursing team and care programs, manages clinical operations and department resources, and partners with Sales to assess whether prospective residents’ needs are appropriate for the community. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursing team and all care programs.
- Conduct resident assessments and oversee Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
- Monitor changes in residents’ conditions and coordinate with physicians and clinical partners.
- Oversee medication management and infection control programs.
- Serve as the CLIA and Infection Control leader, as applicable.
- Drive Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and nursing regulations.
- Recruit, hire, train, and performance-manage clinical team members.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and the department budget.
- Partner with Sales to assess move-in appropriateness.
