About The Position

The Resident Care Director (RCD) is the clinical leader for the community, overseeing health, wellness, and care coordination to ensure safe, high-quality, resident-centered services. The role drives clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and team performance while supporting Sunrise Senior Living’s mission and care standards. The position is also described as Resident Care Director (RN) and is associated with Director of Nursing, clinical leadership, and nursing management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the nursing team and all care programs.
• Conduct resident assessments and oversee Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
• Monitor changes in residents’ condition and coordinate with physicians and clinical partners.
• Oversee medication management and infection control programs.
• Serve as the CLIA and Infection Control leader, as applicable.
• Drive Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and nursing regulations.
• Recruit, hire, train, and performance manage clinical team members.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and the department budget.
• Partner with Sales to assess move-in appropriateness.
