About The Position

The Resident Care Director (RCD) is the community’s clinical leader, overseeing health, wellness, and care coordination to provide safe, high-quality, resident-centered services. The role drives clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and team performance while supporting Sunrise’s mission and care standards. The position is also described as Resident Care Director (RN).

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN), as indicated in the position title.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the nursing team and all care programs.
• Conduct resident assessments and oversee Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
• Monitor changes in residents’ conditions and coordinate with physicians and clinical partners.
• Oversee medication management and infection control programs.
• Serve as the CLIA and Infection Control leader, as applicable.
• Drive Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and nursing regulations.
• Recruit, hire, train, and performance-manage clinical team members.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and the department budget.
• Partner with Sales to assess whether prospective residents are appropriate for move-in.
