About The Position

MRC is a nonprofit service ministry with a tradition of caring for residents and providing a high quality of life. The Resident Care Assistant works as part of a team in Memory Support to provide exceptional care in a household environment, encourage resident involvement and personal growth, and support residents in engaging with community life. The role includes helping create an overall dining experience, assessing and implementing programming that mirrors residents’ normal life activities, and maintaining residents’ personal living spaces.

The schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend off. The position is located at Creekside in Huntsville, Texas.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent is desired.
• Experience with an aging population.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Valid Texas Certified Nurse Assistant certification preferred.
• Experience in a memory unit.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to create an environment that encourages resident involvement and personal growth.
• Deliver exceptional care in a household environment.
• Assist with the delivery of an overall dining experience and its collaborative evaluation.
• Assess and implement programming that mirrors residents’ normal life activities, including upkeep and management of personal living spaces.
• Mentally and emotionally engage residents’ interests and assist them in recapturing the value of community life.
