About The Position

The Resident Assistant position at Cypress Manor involves performing limited nursing, environmental, and nutritional tasks to promote and maintain the health and well-being of County Home residents. This role includes administering and charting medication reminders and treatments as prescribed by physicians, assisting residents with special needs, and measuring and recording vital signs. The Resident Assistant is responsible for ordering medications as directed by the Care Team Coordinator, preparing monthly summaries and necessary charting, and conducting periodic checks on residents. Other duties include transporting residents to doctor appointments, maintaining clean living areas, and cooperating with staff to provide nutritionally balanced meals and snacks. Additionally, the role may involve performing the duties of a cook as needed, maintaining daily records of residents’ activity and condition, and other assigned duties. Requirements

  • Ability to maintain routine records and files of residents’ health needs and requirements.
  • Ability to administer medication to residents according to physician’s directions.
  • Ability to administer simple medical procedures such taking blood pressure readings and temperature.
  • Ability to effectively and tactfully deal with other people.
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read & interpret menu and food preparation procedures.
  • Incumbent work consists of routine record keeping requiring a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strictly adheres to physicians’ detailed directions regarding medication doses.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Qualified Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent experience.
