About The Position

TerraBella Senior Living is hiring a Care Giver for its Morningside of Wilmington community. The role provides hands-on care and physical and emotional support to residents while helping maintain a safe, comfortable, home-like environment. Care Givers support residents’ independence, dignity, and physical safety, assist with activities of daily living, and engage residents in life skills and life-enrichment activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, management, and co-workers.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, as determined on a case-by-case basis.
• Employment may be contingent on successful completion of applicable state-mandated and/or federally required background screenings.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nurse’s Aid certification preferred.
• Previous experience working with seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of residents’ rooms and work areas.
• Help residents maintain independence while promoting their dignity and physical safety.
• Participate in and assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, and eating, as instructed.
• Engage residents in life skills and other life-enrichment activities.
• Provide hands-on care and physical and emotional support to residents while maintaining a safe, comfortable, home-like environment.
