About The Position
The Resident Assistant provides hands-on physical and emotional care to residents according to each resident’s service agreement. The role includes communicating effectively with residents and families, notifying the case manager about changes in condition or concerns, assisting in the dining room, and participating in activities and outings. Part-time shifts are 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. The position is located at 3025 Harbor Lane N, Plymouth, MN 55447.
Requirements
- Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in residents’ best interests.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience in long-term care or an assisted living residence.
- Registration as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aid, or Certified Nursing Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living as indicated in their individualized service agreements.
- Help residents reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
- Provide residents with physical and emotional support.
- Assist with treatments delegated by the Registered Nurse in accordance with the resident service agreement.
- Observe residents and report changes in physical or emotional condition, including changes in attitude, appetite, or weight, to the case manager.
- Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
- Complete required daily documentation, including service schedules, flow sheets, and communication books.
- Communicate with residents and families and notify the case manager of changes in condition or concerns.
- Assist in the dining room and participate in activities and outings.
