About The Position

Silverado Encinitas is hiring a creative and compassionate Resident Engagement (Activities) Assistant to help bring joy, engagement, and purpose to residents’ daily lives through recreational programming. The role supports the Director of Resident Engagement by helping plan and lead daily activities, facilitating memory enrichment programs, and supporting music and occupational therapy sessions. The ideal candidate is dependable, enthusiastic, empathetic, and comfortable working with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or educational equivalent.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Comfort working around animals and pets.
• Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
• Ability to walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with older adults or in memory care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Resident Engagement in planning and leading daily activity programs.
• Organize and facilitate memory enrichment activities for small groups.
• Encourage resident participation and celebrate residents’ achievements.
• Prepare materials and conduct research for recreational programs.
• Support music and occupational therapy sessions.
