About The Position

Silverado Encinitas is hiring a creative and compassionate Resident Engagement (Activities) Assistant to help bring joy, engagement, and purpose to residents’ daily lives through recreational programming. The role supports the Director of Resident Engagement with activity planning and leadership, facilitates memory enrichment activities, encourages resident participation, prepares program materials and research, and supports music and occupational therapy sessions. The position is part-time on an AM shift with variable days.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or educational equivalent.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
• Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Comfort working around animals and pets.
• Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
• Ability to walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with older adults or memory care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Resident Engagement in planning and leading daily activity programs.
• Organize and facilitate memory enrichment activities for small groups.
• Encourage resident participation and celebrate residents’ achievements.
