About The Position

Otterbein is seeking caring and compassionate Resident Assistants to provide person-centered care in its communities. This entry-level role has growth potential and focuses on assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living while working alongside other Partners in Caring. The position works under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge and supports residents’ needs and choices.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
No certification is required.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, including oral care, toileting, bathing, incontinence care, and dressing, in a caring and supportive manner as needed.
Provide supervision, cueing, or other non-weight-bearing assistance with transfers and ambulation as needed.
Communicate, coordinate, and cooperate around resident needs and the team structure.
Work as part of a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge.
Respond quickly to emergency calls from Independent Living residents as directed by the nurse in charge.
Assist residents with other daily needs as necessary.
