About The Position

The Resident Assistant provides hands-on physical and emotional care to residents as outlined in each resident’s service agreement. The role includes communicating with residents and families, notifying the case manager about changes in condition or concerns, and assisting in the dining room and with activities and outings. Positions are available part-time and full-time across AM, PM, and NOC shifts, as well as on a casual basis, at Hayden Grove Bloomington. Pay is $18.00–$24.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in residents’ best interests.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of experience in long-term care or an assisted living residence.
• Registration as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living as indicated in their individualized service agreements.
• Help residents reach and maintain the highest possible level of performance and independence.
• Provide residents with physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments delegated by the Registered Nurse, in accordance with the resident service agreement.
• Observe residents and report changes in physical or emotional condition, such as changes in attitude, loss of appetite, or weight changes, to the case manager.
• Communicate effectively with residents and families, and notify the case manager of changes in condition or concerns.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
• Complete required daily documentation, including the service schedule, flow sheet, and communication book.
• Assist in the dining room and participate in activities and outings.
