About The Position

The Resident Assistant provides personal care and related services to residents according to individualized service and care plans, working under the direction of the Healthcare Coordinator. The role includes supporting residents with daily personal-care needs, monitoring and documenting their status, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and encouraging participation in activities. Nurse’s Aide certification is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• At least six months of caregiving experience, preferably with elderly residents.
• Completion of the required medication management course.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Professionalism and the ability to handle emotionally charged situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

• Nurse’s Aide certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs, and report deviations to the supervising nurse according to the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
• Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinence care, nutrition, ambulation, transfers, positioning, and medication reminders.
• Follow ISPs and daily task sheets, and communicate changes in residents’ status to supervisors.
• Use standard precautions and infection-control procedures.
• Maintain safe and clean resident environments and document resident progress in a timely manner.
• Encourage residents to engage in activities.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and follow community policies.
• Attend biweekly in-service meetings and mandatory trainings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
