About The Position

The Resident Assistant, Medication Aide provides care and services to residents, including medication assistance, healthcare services, activities of daily living, and other assigned duties. The role is responsible for performing work in a caring, safe, and efficient manner and in accordance with location standards and procedures. The position is part-time, scheduled for 8 hours per week on 8-hour day shifts.

Requirements

Complete and maintain the assigned medication administration training program and competencies according to state guidelines before hire.
If working at a facility that uses a lift to move residents, meet the minimum age requirement for the state in which the facility operates.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with self-administration of medications; medication administration may be performed with proper training.
Assist residents with maintaining a proper, clean appearance, bathing, and personal cleanliness.
Help residents with toileting, dressing, and undressing.
Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking.
Accurately obtain vital signs and report changes in resident health status.
Follow OSHA and CDC infection-minimization guidelines, including aseptic cleaning techniques and bloodborne-pathogen procedures.
Use chemicals safely and follow SDS guidelines in the event of exposure.
Assist with preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals and snacks in accordance with orders, standards, and regulations.
Fold, hang, and distribute clean linens and personal clothing; prepare and launder soiled linens and clothing.
Clean residents’ rooms and bathrooms, work areas, and other public areas.
Participate in community involvement at the location and work with volunteers.
