About The Position

The Resident Assistant, Medication Aide provides care and services to residents in an assisted living setting. Duties include medication assistance or administration with proper training, healthcare services, support with activities of daily living, and other assigned tasks. The role is responsible for delivering care in a caring, safe, and efficient manner and following the standards and procedures of the location. This is a part-time position on evening shifts, scheduled for 16 hours per week.

Requirements

Complete and maintain the assigned medication administration training program and competencies according to state guidelines.
If working at a facility that uses a lift to move residents, meet the minimum age requirement for the working state.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with self-administration of medications and administer medications when properly trained.
Help residents maintain a proper, clean appearance, including bathing and personal cleanliness.
Assist residents with toileting, dressing, and undressing.
Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking.
Obtain vital signs accurately and report changes in residents' health status.
Follow OSHA and CDC guidance and aseptic cleaning techniques to minimize infection, including precautions for bloodborne pathogens.
Use chemicals safely and follow SDS guidelines in the event of exposure.
Prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals and snacks according to orders, standards, and regulations.
Fold, hang, and distribute clean linens and personal clothing.
Prepare and launder soiled linen and clothing.
Clean residents' rooms and bathrooms, work areas, and public areas.
Participate in community involvement at the location and work with volunteers.
