About The Position

Royal Atrium Inn, an assisted living community of Providence Life Services in Zeeland, Michigan, is hiring a full-time Resident Aide for the 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. shift. The role works closely with other staff to assist residents according to their needs. No previous experience is necessary; the employer provides training, and relevant experience is rewarded. Applicants must submit a résumé with up-to-date work history. This is a permanent position, not a summer or temporary role. Pay is $16.05–$19.35 per hour, based on relevant experience shown on the résumé.

Requirements

• Be patient, caring, and respectful.
• Have compassion for and a desire to work with elderly people.
• Demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member and independently.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public.
• Be honest, fair, and dependable, and respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others.
• Be available to work every other weekend and some holidays.
• Pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprinting for a criminal background check, and a reference check.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with dressing, bathing, toileting, walking, and transferring.
• Remind residents about medications.
• Make beds.
• Respond to call lights.
• Document work performed.
• Work with fellow staff members to provide care in accordance with residents’ needs.
