About The Position

The Residency Coordinator works under the supervision of the Director and Manager of the Family Medicine Residency program and is responsible for the planning, organizing and day-to-day coordination of the educational program the Family Medicine Residency program. Major responsibilities including resident recruitment, organizing, and scheduling residents and faculty rotations, curriculum assistance, Medical Student coordination and evaluation systems, new Resident orientation, coordinating Resident interviews, and managing internal files.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree required.
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of AAS.
  • Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 35 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers.
  • Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance.
  • Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business and experience with a healthcare focus highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Residency Application and Recruitment Process, including resident interview process from selection through interview. Use of ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service)
  • Daily Program Administration, including but not limited to: Lecture schedule coordination, resident schedules (program uses New Innovations), resident certification
  • Maintains complete and accurate records for past and current residents and faculty
  • The coordinator will demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with the medical and professional staff as well as other Ellis departments.
  • Coordinates and completes required paperwork for visiting medical students and visiting residents
  • Assists current residents with continuing education requests and licensure
  • Administrative support for current faculty physicians
  • Coordinates and assists with new resident orientation, graduation, and other program events
  • Maintains and updates resident files
  • Completes internal and external credentialing requests
  • Completes requests for CME and license reimbursements in a timely manner
  • Adheres to health care center and hospital policies and procedures related to mandatory education and annual health assessments.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to positively interact with a variety of people including hospital administration, staff, and physicians.
  • Demonstrates skills and proficiency in various computer software applications and databases.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
