About The Position

CSI Recruiting is seeking a high-energy, entrepreneurial Reservoir Engineer to join a growing technical team in Fort Worth, Texas. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role with a fast-moving, publicly traded upstream company focused on developing premier unconventional assets in the Midland Basin. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical reservoir engineering expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-accountability environment. This individual will work closely with executive leadership, operations, geology, and finance teams to help drive development strategy, optimize asset performance, and support the company’s continued growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10+ years of reservoir engineering experience within the upstream oil & gas industry.
  • Strong experience with unconventional shale assets, ideally within the Permian Basin.
  • Proficiency with industry software such as ARIES, PHDWin, ComboCurve, or similar engineering applications.
  • Strong understanding of reserves, economics, forecasting, and development planning.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced operating environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technical and executive teams.
  • Self-starter mentality with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reservoir engineering analysis for operated unconventional oil & gas assets, including production forecasting, decline curve analysis, reserves evaluations, and economic modeling.
  • Support development planning and optimization efforts across drilling, completions, and production operations.
  • Assist with budgeting, long-range planning, A&D evaluations, and strategic development initiatives.
  • Monitor well performance and identify opportunities to improve production, recovery, and capital efficiency.
  • Prepare reserve estimates and supporting materials for internal management, bank presentations, and third-party reserve engineers.
  • Work closely with geoscience and operations teams to evaluate spacing, landing zones, completion designs, and field development strategies.
  • Analyze production trends, pressure data, and operational results to support technical and business decisions.
  • Participate in corporate presentations, technical discussions, and strategic planning efforts with senior leadership.
  • Help maintain and improve engineering workflows, databases, and forecasting tools.
  • Stay current on industry trends, unconventional reservoir practices, and emerging technologies.
