Sr. Reservoir Engineer

Diversified Gas & Oil Corporation•Oklahoma City, OK

About The Position

Diversified Energy is hiring a Senior Reservoir Engineer to lead reservoir engineering for its operated development program in the Western Anadarko Basin (Camino). The role owns subsurface work for a one-rig operated drilling program, including well inventory and ranking, type curves, spacing decisions, well economics, and post-drill lookbacks. It also supports Western Anadarko non-operated evaluations, reservoir characterization, base production optimization, long-range planning, and efforts to monetize undeveloped acreage. The engineer works with geoscience, drilling and completions, operations, land, finance, and capital markets, and presents recommendations to senior management. The position involves managing overlapping development decisions, lender requests, reserves deadlines, budget input, and election windows. The role prepares forecasts and reserves inputs for corporate reserves cycles, RBL redeterminations, and audit review; responds to drilling partner and lender data requests; evaluates non-operated AFEs and elections; tracks offset activity; and supports production surveillance and workover evaluation. It also uses rate transient analysis and production analytics to assess production drivers and subsurface risk, supports monetization through development, JVs, farmouts, or divestiture, represents the company with partners and operators, and mentors early-career engineers and analysts. The working conditions include prolonged desk and computer work and periodic travel. The employee must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 7 years of reservoir engineering experience, including direct support of an operated horizontal development program, flowback optimization, and production surveillance.
  • Hands-on experience with type curve generation, completion optimization, well spacing and parent-child analysis, and development economics.
  • Experience in more than one basin, reservoir type, or depletion mechanism.
  • Mastery of ARIES and strong Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or Access.
  • Sound working knowledge of SEC reserves classification, decline curve analysis, and petroleum economics.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and support recommendations with documented sources and defensible assumptions.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills, including presenting to senior management and outside partners.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Nice To Haves

  • Anadarko Basin experience, including SCOOP, STACK, or Western Anadarko.
  • Experience supporting DrillCo, JV, or other development financing structures, including lender and partner data rooms.
  • Rate transient analysis and reservoir characterization experience; reservoir simulation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Enverus, whitson+, S&P IHS, Petra, Spotfire, and Danomics.
  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, or other coding skills for automating forecasting and data workflows.
  • Experience with acquisitions, divestitures, or farmout evaluations.
  • Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead reservoir engineering for the operated Western Anadarko Basin drilling program and own development inventory, well ranking, and drilling schedule inputs.
  • Build and maintain type curves, PUD forecasts, and development economics in ARIES, documenting and defending assumptions.
  • Lead well spacing, stacking, and parent-child interference analysis to guide development design and protect existing producers.
  • Partner with geoscience on landing zones and target selection, and with drilling and completions on completion design, flowback, and drawdown plans.
  • Compare actual post-drill results with forecasts and incorporate learnings into type curves and future wells.
  • Provide development inputs for annual budgeting, long-range planning, and capital allocation.
  • Prepare and respond to drilling partner and lender data requests, including DrillCo and bank requests, with accurate documented support.
  • Supply Western Anadarko forecasts and reserves inputs for corporate reserves cycles, RBL redeterminations, and audit review.
  • Evaluate non-operated AFEs and elections, including completion design, and recommend participation, non-consent, or farmout decisions.
  • Track offset operator activity and results and incorporate them into the company's development view.
  • Support base production optimization, surveillance, and workover evaluation with field operations.
  • Use rate transient analysis and production analytics to assess production drivers and quantify subsurface risk.
  • Help quantify and accelerate monetization of undeveloped acreage through development, JVs, farmouts, or divestiture.
  • Present technical and economic recommendations to management and represent the company with partners and operators.
  • Mentor early-career engineers and analysts and review their work.
