About The Position

JEAN - GEORGES RESTAURANT IS LOOKING FOR RESERVATIONISTS! CANDIDATES MUST HAVE OPEN AVAILABILITY, INCLUDING BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER, & WEEKENDS The Reservationist is responsible for coordinating and managing all reservations. As a Reservationist for Jean-Georges, you will be part of our Reservations Department securing reservations for the restaurant. Your key responsibility will be to manage the day-to-day operation of Restaurant Reservations and to accommodate client requests in a timely manner, oversee bookings, and guest database, handle large parties and the process of taking, recording, changing, and canceling reservations, and support with various administrative and clerical functions.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience in similar field
  • Displays a pleasant and cheerful disposition.
  • Able to communicate professionally and effectively with both guests and staff.
  • Must have basic math skills and be capable of operating department-specific software and applications.
  • Available to work late nights, holidays, and long shifts if necessary.
  • Strong communication and telephone skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Food knowledge
  • Beverage knowledge
  • Knowledge of Resy

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and accurately handle reservations, cancellations, and a variety of inquiries received from guests, and redirect these inquiries to the restaurant as needed
  • Responsible for maximizing bookings by delivering a warm & friendly, yet efficient reservations service
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and responds well to questions
  • Develops a working knowledge of the menus
  • Deliver exceptional service consistently and anticipate guests’ needs
  • Operate ethically to protect the image of the Company
  • Maintain a good working relationship with others by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working climate
  • Demonstrates flexibility and patience; possesses an interest in people
  • Maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal and medical information from guests that are shared
  • Helps train new department team members
  • Organize all reservations and guests using the most effective guest and restaurant-conscious procedures.
  • Professionally and effectively communicate with guests to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain guest relationships to promote repeat business.
  • Implement quick and efficient decisions based on guest and/or restaurant needs.
  • Provide the highest quality service to guests at all times.
  • Awareness of all guests’ needs, reservation needs, and restaurant needs at all times.
  • Create and maintain a database with local concierges
  • Utilizing Resy to the best of its capacities.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
