About The Position

The Kim lab in the UNC McAllister Heart Institute is seeking a Research Technician. The lab uses molecular, genetic, and cellular techniques to examine the contribution of endothelial cell metabolism in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Requirements

  • Human endothelial cell culture
  • Dissection of mouse tissues including blood vessel
  • Immunocytochemistry
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • qPCR
  • Western blot
  • Microscopic imaging

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and maintaining the lab (e.g. preparation of lab stock solutions, autoclave, lab maintenance, and inventorying/ordering chemicals, samples, and supplies)
  • Assisting the PI and lab members with their experiments and also running experiments independently as they get trained.
  • Managing the mouse colony (e.g. genotyping)
