About The Position
The Research Technician B will perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures, requiring occasional guidance. Responsibilities include mouse tail clipping, genotyping, preparation of laboratory solutions, and mouse necropsy with supervision. The role involves occasional data analysis and a limited understanding of scientific literature and research goals. The position may also involve occasional ordering of routine supplies.
Requirements
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience
- Zero to two years of related experience
Responsibilities
- Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures
- Mouse tail clipping (low complexity and weekly)
- Genotyping with mouse tails (Low complexity weekly)
- Preparation of laboratory solutions (low complexity weekly/monthly)
- Mouse necropsy with supervision and assistance (medium complexity monthly or less with supervision)
- Require occasional guidance
- Occasionally be responsible for ordering routine supplies
- Rarely modify technical procedures
- Rarely train other lab members
- Rarely guide other lab members
- A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required
- Occasionally analyze data
- Rarely interpret data
- Rarely make written contributions to papers and grant proposals
