  • Ability to perform and succeed in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with peers and management.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems in an efficient, proactive manner.
  • Demonstrated track record of accuracy and thoroughness.

Nice To Haves

  • Current knowledge in modern synthetic techniques and instrumentation, including but not limited to modern coupling methods, electrochemistry, C-H activation, flow chemistry, and high-throughput experimentation methodology, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and/or develop modern synthetic methodologies to solve challenging bond formations.
  • Develop fit-for-purpose molecular assembly strategies to enable access to advanced OLED molecules, structural diversity studies, and drive down cost of goods.
  • Develop quantitative understanding of critical process parameters using statistical tools such as Design of Experiments.
  • Use reaction kinetic models and understanding of reaction mechanisms to facilitate process optimization.
  • Independently propose, direct, and perform scientific experiments, including developing new flow chemistry methodologies, batch to flow conversions, and synthetic procedures in support of OLED material synthesis.
  • Coordinate with OLED chemistry colleagues to identify opportunities and solve synthetic challenges using Enabling Technologies team solutions and platforms.
  • Design innovative materials and develop in-depth knowledge of organic electronic material properties, synthesis, and display applications.
  • Perform design, synthesis, purification, analysis, and characterization of small to medium scale organic and/or organometallic compounds.
  • Implement state-of-the-art synthetic methods to access novel organic and/or organometallic compounds.
  • Collaborate with chemists and engineers to improve materials and devices.
  • Stay up to date with scientific literature.
  • Be able to write and interpret technical information and effectively communicate with peers within the team and across the organization.
  • Accurately record experimental work within the electronic notebook(s).
