The Joag Lab studies tissue-resident memory CD8 T cells in the airways, lungs, and other mucosal tissues, including how these cells change from childhood to adulthood and affect protection against respiratory infections. The lab also investigates ways T cells may help treatments reach targets in fibrotic diseases. Established in 2025, the lab offers the opportunity to help shape its trajectory and culture. The Research Scientist II provides scientific leadership and technical execution for in vivo projects involving lung fibrosis and T-cell immunity against influenza. The work includes mouse experiments, viral infection models, bleomycin administration, in vivo lung-function testing, tissue extraction and processing, flow cytometry, and bioinformatics analysis. The scientist will contribute to training and supporting other lab members.
