About the position
The job overview for this position is seeking talented researchers interested in applying their skills towards the next generation of intelligent systems, and pursuing the mission of AI for the common good. The Aristo project is expanding its mission towards problems requiring both reading and explanation, and the role requires new advances in machine reading, natural language understanding, common-sense knowledge acquisition, machine inference, and more. The successful candidate will work with world-class AI researchers and talented software engineers in a team-based, ambitious research environment, with a mandate to strive for big breakthroughs, not just incremental progress.
Responsibilities
- Apply natural language processing, machine learning, knowledge representation, semantics, question answering, or computer vision skills to the next generation of intelligent systems
- Work on the Aristo project to solve problems that require modeling, reasoning, and explanation
- Participate in team-based, ambitious research with a mandate to strive for big breakthroughs in AI
- Collaborate with world-class AI researchers and talented software engineers
- Mentor interns and participate in AI2's groundbreaking work
- Contribute to humanity through AI2's treatment of each member of the AI2 Team, valuing diversity, inclusion, and a healthy work/life balance

Requirements
- Applicants should have an interest in natural language processing, machine learning, knowledge representation, semantics, question answering, textual entailment, or computer vision.
- PhD, Masters and Undergraduate students in computer science are invited to apply for an internship on the Aristo team year-round.
- All interns are paired with an Aristo mentor and participate in AI2's groundbreaking work.
