Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. The Research Intern will assist with routine laboratory support activities in a cancer research laboratory while gaining exposure to biomedical research and laboratory operations.

Requirements

  • Current high school student entering senior year with an interest in science, medicine, or biomedical research
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a laboratory environment
  • Availability of approximately 6–10 hours per week preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining laboratory supplies and reagents.
  • Prepare and aliquot basic reagents under supervision.
  • Assist with autoclaving glassware and disposal of biohazard waste.
  • Help maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness.
  • Support routine laboratory activities and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in educational and mentorship activities to learn about biomedical research and scientific careers.
