About The Position

The Research Grants Administrator supports the Sponsored Programs team, faculty, and staff in the development and preparation of research grant proposals, contracts, subcontracts, and agreements. This role involves interpreting funding guidelines, preparing budgets, compiling application components, documenting processes, and submitting applications to sponsors. The administrator also analyzes and evaluates awarded proposals, contracts, and subcontracts for compliance with agency, federal, state, and institutional requirements. They will manage a portfolio of divisions, ensuring effective communication and strong working relationships with faculty and stakeholders, responding to requests promptly, and identifying customer needs. The position supports the submission of 0-175 funding proposals annually.

Responsibilities

  • Supports team, faculty and staff in the development and preparation of research grant proposals, contracts, subcontracts, and agreements.
  • Interprets funding guidelines and sponsor requirements.
  • Prepares budgets, considering correct calculation of expenditure categories, sponsor requirements, and feasibility.
  • Compiles application components and documents processes.
  • Submits proposals to sponsors.
  • Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and institutional policies, SOPs, accuracy, and program guidelines.
  • Ensures proposals are entered into ePAS accurately.
  • Analyzes and evaluates awarded proposals, contracts, and subcontracts for compliance with funding agency, federal, state, and CCHMC requirements.
  • Effectively manages a portfolio of divisions.
  • Actively manages strong working relationships with divisions, faculty, and other key stakeholders.
  • Responds to requests quickly and effectively.
  • Identifies and understands customer needs and expectations and meets them.
