About The Position

Wake Forest University Health Sciences - Academic WF Institute for Regen Medicine is seeking a full-time Grants Administrator. This role is responsible for assisting in the preparation, editing, and proofreading of final proposals, developing budgets, and preparing forms for funding agencies. The Grants Administrator will provide technical advice on administrative and financial aspects of proposals, maintain a thorough understanding of agency guidelines (NIH, DOD, etc.), and coordinate complex subcontracts. This position also involves managing conflict of interest correspondence, developing resources for investigators, identifying potential funding agencies and programs, and maintaining databases of relevant information. Additionally, the role includes managing the preparation of progress reports, serving as a liaison with study sponsors, assisting in reporting to administration on research activities, and overseeing grant account transactions and personnel time tracking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with four years' experience in grants and coordination or management
  • Equivalent combination education and experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparing, editing and proofreading final proposals.
  • Provides expertise in developing budgets and preparing forms for the appropriate funding agencies.
  • Provides technical advice regarding administrative and financial aspects of proposals, budget, budget justification, subcontracting, indirect cost rates, fringe rates, etc. to investigators.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of guidelines of NIH, DOD, and numerous agencies.
  • Creates, coordinates, and reviews complex subcontracts.
  • Coordinates Conflict of Interest correspondence.
  • Develops resources to assist multiple investigators in the preparation and submission of complex proposals and administration of awards.
  • Confers with the Office of Research, and research available databases such as Community of Science to identify the appropriate funding agencies for projects.
  • Identifies potential sponsors and programs for funding.
  • Maintains a database of divisional bio sketches, departmental, divisional, center, and institutional resource pages and environment and training information to assist in preparation of training grants, contracts, program projects and other multi-departmental initiatives.
  • Manages the preparation of progress reports.
  • Functions as liaison with study sponsors; coordinate updates of grant information.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports to administration regarding the scientific and financial growth of research activities and funding.
  • Oversees transactions for grant accounts.
  • Track research time and effort of study personnel.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to work described herein.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership.
