About The Position

Applied Intuition, Inc. is seeking passionate early-career Research Engineers to join their Research Group. This group focuses on creating cutting-edge technology for next-generation physical AI, particularly in end-to-end autonomous driving and robotic generalist applications. The team comprises leading experts with a strong track record of academic and industry contributions. Researchers have access to industry-leading tools, extensive data from large fleets, and the opportunity to deploy their developed methods into various autonomous and robotic systems. The role involves contributing to and learning from best practices in the autonomy and robotics industries within a fast-paced, customer-focused culture. Improvements made by researchers are immediately deployed to help customers and deliver business value. This position is designed for recent PhD or MS graduates ready to translate strong academic research into shipped autonomy systems.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in at least one of the following fields: World-action foundation model, video/Gaussian generation, diffusion policy, multi-modal robot learning, VLA post-training, reinforcement learning, Physics-aware reconstruction, deformable simulation.
  • MSc or PhD in machine learning and computer vision with autonomy and robotics applications or closely related field, graduating by December 2026 or Summer 2027.
  • Passion for next-generation, scalable autonomy and robotics for real-world systems.
  • Strong engineering and research skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects.
  • Technical experience in: Python, Pytorch, computer vision, robotics systems, and distributed machine learning model training.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry experience on relevant topics (self-driving application preferred).
  • Passion for building and shipping customer-focused software frameworks or tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the ADAS stack engineering team to test and deploy end-to-end algorithms for mass production vehicles.
  • Collaborate with the simulation team to deploy data-driven generation algorithms for highly efficient and automated tools.
  • Conduct research on architecture design, robustness, safety, and language modality incorporation for the differentiable stack.
  • Work closely with Research Scientists and interns on high-quality research publications for submission to top-tier conferences.
