About The Position

Fellow.ai is seeking a small group of exceptional new graduates to join their Engineering team full-time. This role offers the opportunity to own real features from concept to production within days, working directly with Product and Design. New hires will utilize AI tools like Cursor and Claude to enhance speed and quality, and will be paired with a senior engineer mentor for rapid growth. The company is a remote-first, Series A startup backed by prominent investors, focused on using AI to improve meeting productivity for major clients.

Requirements

  • Graduating (or recently graduated) with a degree or diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related program.
  • Have built things you're proud of, such as co-op projects, side projects with real users, open-source contributions, or hackathon builds.
  • Relentlessly curious about AI and already use tools like Cursor or Claude to supercharge your productivity.
  • Want to own features end-to-end and see the direct impact of your work.
  • A natural problem-solver who digs into root causes rather than applying quick fixes, and who sees technical challenges as opportunities to learn.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate well across disciplines.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and like taking initiative in a startup where no two days look the same.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship features end-to-end with React/TypeScript, Django/Python, and GraphQL, from API design to polished UI.
  • Write clean, performant, and maintainable code.
  • Use AI tools like Cursor, Claude, n8n, and other cutting-edge AI tools daily to move faster and raise the quality bar on everything you ship.
  • Focus on work that meaningfully moves product and business metrics, turning requirements into user impact rather than just output.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and QA to turn concepts into polished experiences that delight users.
  • Write unit, integration, and regression tests.
  • Take part in thoughtful code reviews, both giving and receiving them.
  • Draft tech specs, break work into deliverable pieces, and define success metrics.
  • Take on larger projects and lead features from idea to launch as you ramp up.

Benefits

  • Ownership from day one
  • Accelerated growth through small teams, dedicated mentors, and fast feedback
  • AI-native engineering experience
  • Opportunity to build career in Ottawa
  • Flexible start date (May to September 2027, earlier for recent grads)
