About The Position

The Research Coordinator supports clinical and translational research activities within the Otolaryngology clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital. The incumbent organizes regulatory submissions, coordinates study operations, and assists physicians and supports research teams in conducting high-quality, ethical research.

Requirements

  • Completion of a relevant technical program or a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit Research Ethics Board (REB) applications, amendments, and renewals.
  • Recruit, screen, and consent study participants in accordance with approved protocols.
  • Coordinate data collection, sample collection/processing, and study documentation.
  • Maintain study databases and ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Support multiple otolaryngology surgeons with day-to-day study coordination and communication.
  • Assist with study logistics, scheduling, and research administrative tasks as required.
  • Provide administrative and finance support for clinical research activities for PIs based at St. Paul’s hospital.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data collection for studies, which may involve participation in the clinical setting to recruit subjects for clinical research projects and assisting with logistical organization in the clinical setting.
  • Organize and participate in research review meetings for the PIs at St. Paul’s.
  • Prepare written documentation (including lay-language documentation) of Divisional research progress on an annual basis or as requested by the PIs.
  • Participate in some data analysis and preparation of abstracts and manuscripts for publication for PI’s research projects.
  • Performs other responsibilities, as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
