About The Position

SeqMatic is seeking a Research Associate to join its single cell sequencing services team. The role calls for a strong molecular biology background, particularly in nucleic acid purification and NGS/Omics workflows. The associate will support sample processing and single-cell sequencing library preparation, maintain experimental records, operate laboratory equipment, and communicate with customers and teammates. Occasional travel within 50 miles of the Fremont lab is required to support the company’s “Onsite-seq” offering. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in biology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related science.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with cell and tissue cultures.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience performing cell and nuclei isolations using manual and automated methods, such as Miltenyi gentleMACS.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with single-cell library preparation, such as 10x Genomics, Parse Biosciences, or Takara SmartSeq.
Strong attention to detail and strong laboratory and analytical skills.
Solid English-language communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and accommodate a flexible schedule to support workload.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.

Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

Accession samples using LIMS.
Organize and maintain detailed experimental records and follow laboratory procedures.
Prepare cells and tissues using manual and automated protocols.
Prepare sequencing libraries from single cells and nuclei using workflows from 10x Genomics and Parse Biosciences.
Operate common laboratory equipment, including thermocyclers, qPCR machines, and benchtop centrifuges.
Communicate in person and electronically with customers and team members.
Travel occasionally within 50 miles of the Fremont lab to support the “Onsite-seq” offering.
