About The Position

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Applied Research and Evaluation Initiatives, the Research Associate III (RA III) will be responsible for project management, coordination, and data collection and analysis for projects. In addition, the RA III will collaborate with project analysts and student research staff to complete projects in a timely manner. Critical to this position is managing the programmatic aspects of grants and projects in accordance with the procedures, guidelines, and expectations required. Experience with quantitative data analysis is vital for this. The Research Associate III will work with project manager(s), Associate/Assistant Directors, the Director, and analysts to conduct social science research and support other organizational priorities, as defined by the Associate Director of Research and the Director of IRISS. This may include developing research or evaluation plans, developing data collection tools (e.g., surveys, focus groups, and interview guides, etc.), administering surveys, facilitating focus groups, conducting interviews, analyzing quantitative and/or qualitative data, and developing reports and/or presentations to deliver results to clients. The Institute for Research in the Social Sciences (IRISS) is a Core Facility supported by the College of Liberal Arts and the Office of the Vice President for Research at Colorado State University which aims to connect and support social scientists with other researchers, as well as university, community, and industry partners. IRISS staff are thought partners who provide robust social science research and collaboration tools to integrate community partners and researchers from all disciplines. IRISS collaborates with internal and external partners to enhance social science research capacity, improve grant competitiveness campus-wide, promote interdisciplinary research networking opportunities, and provide and support research methods training in support of the University’s land grant mission.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the social or natural sciences, or related fields from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 2 years of social science research experience, and project management in a professional business or academic institution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative social science research methods.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing statistical software programs such as R, Stata, SPSS, SAS, or similar.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and collaboration skills as demonstrated by work experience.
  • Knowledge of human-subjects oriented research and institutional review board policies and procedures related to social science.
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports for both academic and non-academic audiences.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US, no visa will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Manage awarded grant and project activities and associated contract deliverables.
