About The Position

The University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant Professor, Physiology. This is a full-time, 12-month position primarily focused on research-intensive activities that align with currently funded research goals. The main duties include conducting high-quality research, publishing papers in respected scientific journals, and obtaining support through grants and/or fellowships from extramural sources. The individual will have the opportunity to develop independent lines of research as time and resources allow, and it is expected that they will seek and obtain funding to support these projects. The position also involves contributing to the training of junior researchers and fostering a collaborative scientific environment within the department. As a developing scientist, participation in career development activities and working with a primary mentor and senior scientists to enhance professional growth is expected. The individual is expected to take advantage of teaching opportunities as they arise and are appropriate to build a balanced CV, though teaching is not initially expected but could develop over time. Service activities are not expected to exceed 5% effort and will align with career growth goals.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physiology, cell biology, or related field
