About The Position

Chamberlain University is seeking Anatomy & Physiology Faculty (part-time) to join their team. They are looking for instructors with high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to providing practitioner-focused education. This role is primarily for Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate BSN nursing students on-site in Charlotte, NC. The position involves teaching a four-course sequence on human anatomy and physiology using a body systems approach, emphasizing the interrelationships between form and function at gross and microscopic levels. Topics covered include basic terminology, cell biology, integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, special senses, endocrine, cardiovascular, immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. Courses may meet once or twice a week for eight weeks, with a blended learning environment combining face-to-face interaction with technology for online discussions and assignments. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree is required for all faculty positions (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching).
  • Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.
  • Faculty must also have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.
  • Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
