About The Position

The University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant Professor, Physiology. This is a full-time, 12-month position primarily focused on research-intensive activities aligned with currently funded research goals. The main duties include conducting high-quality research, publishing in respected scientific journals, and obtaining extramural funding through grants and/or fellowships. The individual will have opportunities to develop independent lines of research as time and resources permit, and is expected to seek funding to support these projects. Contributions to training junior researchers and fostering a collaborative scientific environment within the department are expected. As a developing scientist, participation in career development activities and working with a primary mentor and senior scientists to enhance professional growth is also anticipated. Teaching opportunities will be taken advantage of as they arise and are appropriate for building a balanced CV, though teaching is not initially expected but may develop over time. Service activities are not expected to exceed 5% effort and will align with career growth goals.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physiology, cell biology, or related field
